Everything begins with a strategy. Building a website without creating a strategy is like setting out on a journey without a map. There’s a chance you’ll get there but, it will probably take longer than you first thought! It’s important to establish your business’ online strategy at the onset of the project because this will impact the structure, features and size of the site.
During this phase, we will also establish whether or not you need to incorporate Search Engine Optimisation in to the structure and content of your website.
Once we’ve agreed on the strategy, we will put together a ‘mockup’ of the design of your new homepage. Here we work with you to create a look and feel which is consistent with your branding and the type of image you want to present to your customers.
One of the common roadblocks in developing a website is coming up with the content – both the copy (text) and the images. You can have the best looking website in the world, but if the content isn’t well-written, engaging and relevant, your audience will soon lose interest.
With the content and design agreed upon, we now turn to the ‘build’ phase. This phase usually takes between 4-6 weeks to create a test version of your new website. Once the development is complete you will be provided with a private link to the new website for your comments and feedback.
If you have an extensive online shopping cart or other detailed features, we will take the time to work through the sales processes to ensure the website is completely bug-free before releasing it to your customers.
